An official of Lebanese resistance movement, Hezbollah, has welcomed Iran’s planned military aid to the Lebanon’s army in its fight against terrorism.
Sayyed Hashem Safieddine, the head of Hezbollah’s Executive Council, said Iran’s promised aid to the Lebanese army comes at the right moment as the country's military forces are battling terrorists at the present sensitive juncture, IRNA reported on Saturday.

He added that Lebanon should extend its gratitude to Iran for providing the country with military aid.

The Islamic Republic has once again, in practice, proved its sincerity to Lebanon by supporting the Arab country’s army under the most difficult and crucial conditions, he added.

The Hezbollah official said any party seeking to undermine the Lebanese army for political, regional or religious gains would harm Lebanon.

On September 30, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani said in Beirut that Tehran would provide the necessary military equipment to the Lebanese army for the fight against terror.

Lebanon has been rocked by the spillover of the conflict in Syria, where the ISIL Takfiri terrorists are operating.

Syria has been gripped by deadly violence since 2011 with ISIL Takfiri terrorists currently controlling parts of it, mostly in east and north.
