Tehran, Oct 4, IRNA - The Governor General of Tehran Province Seyyed Hossein Hashemi on Saturday welcomed presence of foreign tourists in the capital, Tehran.
Talking to IRNA, he advised all local officials to facilitate tourists visit to the metropolitan city's historical áttractions.
Iran and particularly the capital's tourist attractions are not known to foreign tourists, Hashemi added.
The first train carrying European tourists arrived in Iran on Monday.
The 78-member group of European tourists is from Germany, Russia, Switzerland, Denmark, Britain, Australia, Spain, Singapore and Turkey.
They entered Iran from Turkey via Razi border on board a special tourist train.
They are scheduled to visit historical and religious sites of Tabriz, Zanjan, Yazd, Isfahan, Shiraz and Tehran and then, they will fly back to Istanbul from Tehran.
It is also scheduled that the next group of tourists fly to Tehran and then take the same train to go to Shiraz, Isfahan, Yazd and Zanjan. They will leave Iran through the Razi border and return to Turkey on October 11.
