Famed inspiration powerhouse Japanese composer and instrumentalist Kitar? is to stage live performances in Tehran.
The virtuoso is to go on stage at the Ministry of Interior of the Islamic Republic as well as to perform for three nights in the Iranian capital later in October.

He will reportedly perform some of his greatest hits at the ministry’s theater on October 15 and 16.

The concert’s sponsor has said more than 5,000 tickets have been sold. He has also said Tehran Symphony Orchestra is to accompany the musician. The orchestra is to be conducted by Nader Morteza-Pour.

Silk Road by the Japanese artist resonates strongly with many Iranians, who have taken a listen to the masterpiece being played time and again on television.

Kitar? himself has said, “Since the early 80s when I was working on the soundtrack for the documentary Silk Road I have listened to the Iranian music many times. It is always magnificent to me.”

A winner of a Grammy Award and a Golden Globe Award, Kitar? is regarded as a pioneer of New Age music.
