A number of Iranian screen productions are slated to be showcased at the sixth Baghdad International Film Festival (BIFF) in Iraq.
Some 10 Iranian films have been selected to contend for awards at the competition section of the festival.
Iran submitted 61 screen productions in various categories to this year’s Iraqi festival.
The festival is slated to be held in several sections including Long Fiction, Documentaries, Short Drama, Human Images (films with a human rights focus) and Arab Women filmmakers section.
Iran has recently opened a cinematic training center in Baghdad, offering diverse categories of filmmaking, acting, and writing screenplay.
A number of Iranian and Iraqi cultural officials attended the opening ceremony of the center.
Iran’s three movies had garnered awards in different sections of last year’s edition of Baghdad Film Festival.
The sixth Baghdad International Film Festival is to take place from October 15 through 19, 2014.
