TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran Olympic team lost to Vietnam 4-1 at the qualifying round of the Asian Games 2014 in South Korea on Monday.
In the match held in Group H at the Ansan Wa Stadium, Vu Huy Toan scored the first goal for Vietnamese team at 24th minute.
Mac Hong Quan scored Vietnam’s second goal in the 28th minute.
Mohsen Mosalman pulled a goal back from the penalty spot in the 66th minute.
In the 69th minute, Phi Son scored for Vietnam and captain Hoang Thinh made it 4-1 in the 82nd minute.
Iran defender Mohammad Reza Khanzadeh was shown a red card in the injury time.
Iran will play against Kyrgystan on September 18 in group H, which will select two winning teams to the next round. Vietnam will play Kyrgyzstan on September 22.
