Three men, including a Dubai policeman and two fake officers, have kidnapped two young female Iranian tourists and raped one of them.
The men riding in a car first approached the two Iranian women. Then one of them stepped out of the vehicle and punched one of the female tourists on the nose, accusing her of being drunk.
Afterwards, the three men forced the tourists into the back seat of their car.
They tried to rape one of the girls, but failed to do so due to the type of clothes she was wearing. Then they raped her friend as the girls were screaming for help in vain.
The three men also robbed the women of their cash and threatened to hurt them if they informed the police.
An Emirati court has charged the assailants, a 20-year-old Emirati student, a 23-year-old Emirati policeman and a 23-year-old jobless person, with kidnapping, using drugs, rape and attempted rape, stealing the victims’ money and posing as police officers.
Meanwhile, ISNA reported that in 2012 the number of Iranian tourists travelling to Dubai declined by 32 percent as a result of the soaring price of the dollar. The figure also dropped by 14.1 percent in 2013 with only 278,000 Iranians visiting the Emirati port city.
