TEHRAN August 27 (Shana)--Iran’s Energy Ministry welcomes investment in renewable energies, the head of the Renewable Energies Organization of Iran said.
“Given the existing capacities in the country, there is a good potential for generating renewable energies and taking into consideration the potentials of the private sector, Energy Ministry welcomes investment [in this sector],” Yousef Armodeli said.
He added that the use of renewable energies will pick up speed if a comprehensive plan is adopted with the cooperation of Petroleum Ministry.
He said that power plants operating with renewable sources of energy could replace fossil-fuelled power plants.
“The private sector can be a good administrator for boosting the share of renewable energies in the country and the private sector will benefit from advantages due to good rate of return on investment,” said Armodeli.
