Iraq's Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari has called on the international community to back his country’s ongoing offensive against ISIL Takfiri terrorists.
Zebari said on Wednesday that the ISIL militants, their extreme views and brutal tactics are a threat to the whole world, not just to Iraq's minority ethnic groups.
The remarks come as the terrorist group has killed at least 500 members of the Izadi Kurds over the past few days in the country’s troubled north.
ISIL terrorists have terrorized entire communities, including Shias, Sunnis, Kurds, Christians, Izadi Kurds and others, as they continue their advances in Iraq.
The ISIL terrorist group has seized some parts in both Iraq and Syria. The group, which controls parts of Syria, sent its fighters into neighboring Iraq in June and quickly seized large swathes of territory straddling the border between the two countries.
In their latest horrifying act of violence, the ISIL terrorist group released a video purportedly showing the beheading of a US journalist kidnapped in Syria.
According to reports, the Western powers and their regional allies - especially Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Turkey - are supporting the militants operating inside Syria.
Several top Western leaders have recently warned the ISIL terrorist group poses an imminent threat not only to the Middle East but also to the United States as well as to Europe.
Analysts believe the Syria and Iraq crises will backfire on the West as militants are now returning to the countries they came from, including those in Europe.
The terrorists have links with Saudi intelligence and are believed to be indirectly supported by the Israeli regime.
