Kuala Lumpur, August 19, IRNA – President of Iran?s Football Federation said Tuesday that reviewing the structure of Asian Football Confederation (AFC) would serve the interests of football in the old continent.
Kaffashian, who is also the head of a committee tasked with reviewing the structure of AFC, told IRNA after a meeting of the committee in Kuala Lumpur that detailed studies are underway by the committee in eleven different areas.
Kaffashian said that during the two-day meeting, which was held on Monday and Tuesday in the AFC headquarters, the members agreed upon the general structure of the task.
He said the committee is making use of the patterns used by FIFA and the confederations of Europe, South America and Africa to make the necessary changes to the structure of AFC.
The next meeting of the committee is scheduled to be held in two months.
