Ahvaz, Khuzestan Prov, Aug 17, IRNA – Four men died after they were struck by lightning in the southwestern city of Izeh Saturday night.
A local official told IRNA that the victims were hit and immediately killed by lightning while they were crossing the street in Izeh, some 170 km from Ahvaz.
In a rare phenomenon, Izeh and some mountainous areas in east of Khuzestan experienced heavy thunderstorms on Saturday.

Thunderstorms are not common in Khuzestan.
