Mostafa Mohammad Najjar, Iran’s Interior Minister says more than 48 million people are eligible to vote in the upcoming parliamentary elections on March 2.
He told reporters that 48,288,799 people are qualified to cast their ballots in the ninth parliamentary elections.
He went on to say that over 5,400 had registered to contest 290 parliamentary seats.
He also added that campaigning for the vote will begin on Thursday for one week. It means that Iran election race starting tomorrow, candidates starting the legal process of election propaganda on 23 February.
