Tehran, Aug 12, IRNA - Veteran Iranian actor Ezzatollah Entezami went to the United Nations Office in Tehran on Monday to ask the organization to stop Israel?s brutal war on Gaza.
A representative of the UN office met Entezami and his family and assured them that he will pass their message on.
“We support the Palestinians and I hope the war and bloodshed stops soon,” the 90-year-old Entezami told reporters while he and his family members were leaving the United Nations office.
“I really feel sad to see that the children in Gaza are being killed every day,” he stated, adding, “We are here to stop the killing of the children.”
Entezami’s son, Majid, who is the former conductor of the Tehran Symphony Orchestra, his children Sorush and Golnush, and a number of people also accompanied Entezami during the meeting.
“We are here to say that we will readily back the Palestinians and will do anything to stop the killings,” Majid Entezami told the reporters adding that his father himself initiated the move and there was no official organization behind it.
Entezami’s plan to hold the gathering was announced in a statement, which was published by IRNA and some other Persian news agencies on Sunday.
He also asked people to join the gathering.
