Turkmens seek investment in Iran

12 Aug 2014 - 13:30

TEHRAN August 12 (Shana)--A delegation of Turkish investors has visited 30 factories in Iran as they look for investment in the Islamic Republic, a Petroleum Ministry advisor said.
“Iran enjoys a good ambiance for investment and the Turkmens having well understood this issue entered Iran’s economic sector,” Mohammad-Taqi Amanpour said.

He said Iranian companies are making efforts to win footholds in Turkmenistan’s market, adding: “Iran is following short-term, mid-term and long-term objectives in Turkmenistan’s market.”

Amanpour said opportunities for job creation in Turkmenistan are also to be identified.

Iran is Turkmenistan’s second largest trade partner after Russia.

The Islamic Republic exports machinery, construction materials, sedans, buses, food stuff, agricultural and petrochemical products, electrical products and home appliances to Turkmenistan, and imports natural gas, electricity, textiles and agricultural products from its northern neighbor.
