TEHRAN (Tasnim) -Iran's support for the Palestinian resistance is aimed at preventing Israel from reaching its goals by continuing its aggression, said deputy foreign minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian on Saturday.
Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian made the remark in a meeting with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri upon arrival in Beirut, reported Lebanon's Arabic-language Annahar Newspaper.
On Saturday morning, the Iranian diplomat arrived in Beirut heading a diplomatic delegation to hold talks with the country’s high-ranking officials on issues of mutual interest.
During his visit to the country, Amir Abdollahian is also planned to meet with Lebanese Prime Minister Tammam Salam and Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil.
Latest regional developments particularly those in Lebanon, Iraq and Syria, ways to fight terrorism, Israeli atrocities against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and means of supporting the Palestinian nation and the Resistance Movement, are among the issues expected to be discussed in the talks.
