Iran diplomat says nuclear talks likely to be extended by 2 months

16 Jul 2014 - 22:47

An Iranian diplomat said Wednesday that talks between Iran and six world powers on Tehran's nuclear program "will likely be extended by around two months" beyond the deadline on Sunday, with the latest ongoing round in Vienna expected to end Friday.
Speaking to Kyodo News, the diplomat cited the limited time given to negotiators from the participating countries as the reason for the likely extension, saying they need to consult with their respective capitals.

The talks involving the United States, Russia, France, Britain, China and Germany have been deadlocked primarily over the scale of Iran's uranium enrichment activity.
