?Hush, Girls Do Not Scream’ to be screened in Australia

Tehran, July 13, IRNA - Iranian movie ‘Hush… Girls Don’t Scream’, directed by Pouran Derakhshandeh, will be screened in the 17th Revelation Perth International Film Festival in Australia.
The film is centered on abused children and their problems. The cast includes Tannaz Tabatabaei, Merila Zarei, Shahab Hosseini and Babak Hamidian.
Sponsored by Iran’s Farabi Cinematic Foundation, the film won the best film award at the 2012 Fajr International Film Festival, wrote Sunday?s edition of ?Iran Daily?.

Derakhshandeh, born in 1951, has so far directed 12 feature-length films and dozens of documentaries. Some of her better known works include: ‘A Little Bird of Happiness’ (1987), ‘Passing Through the Dust’(1988), ‘Lost Time’ (1989), ‘A Love Without Frontier’ (1998), ‘Candle in the Wind’ (2003), ‘Eternal Children’ (2006) and ‘Endless Dream’ (2010).

Revelation Perth International Film Festival began in 1997. Founded to showcase a large range of independent feature films, documentaries, short films, and experimental works, it runs every July in Perth, Western Australia and is regarded by few as one of the best independent film festivals in Australia.
