Tehran, June 26, IRNA - Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli said here on Thursday that Iran is a forerunner in campaign against drug trafficking.
Addressing a gathering, he described the international community?s assistance to Iran in its counter-narcotics efforts as meager.
Rahmani Fazli regretted that a huge amount of opium produced in Afghanistan is transited via Iran, which, he said, is a big dilemma for the country.
He said the eastern borders of the country are fully monitored to prevent drug trafficking in border areas.
