TEHRAN June 23 (Shana)--Iran’s share of global gas trade will increase as the country saves more gas for exports, managing-director of National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) said.
“By reducing gas consumption inside the country, it would be possible to export more of this energy carrier,” Hamid-Reza Araqi said.
“Gas exports’ value-added is ten times the gas supply in the country. By efficient use and more production, it would be possible to reap maximum benefit from it,” he said.
Araqi said Iran, which holds the world’s largest gas reserves, should join the global gas market.
The official said using mini-LNG facilities could help reduce gas consumption in the winter.
