TEHRAN June 23 (Shana)--Distribution of euro-4 gasoline has started in the northwestern city of Tabriz as part of Iran’s plan to reduce air pollution in big cities.
Managing-Director of Tabriz Oil Refining Company (TORC) Mohammad-Baqer Dakhili said gasoline has been a major contributor to air pollution in big cities.
“Distribution of clean gasoline will reduce pollution and boost efficiency in the transportation fleet,” he said.
Dakhili said TORC is supplying 1 to 1.2 million liters a day of clean gasoline to the provincial oil products distribution company.
He said TORC plans to distribute 20,000 b/d of euro-4 gasoline in Tabriz in the current year.
He said the company has set 3-ml/d gasoline production as its objective.
