TEHRAN June 23 (Shana)--New petrochemical hubs in southeastern Iran will be instrumental in the development of Sistan Balouchestan province in southeastern Iran, a deputy head of National Petrochemical Company said.
Mohammad-Hassan Peyvandi said the planned petrochemical hubs in Iranshahr and Chabahar, both in Sistan Balouchestan province, will also boost the country’s production capacity.
“Iranshahr and Chabahar petrochemical hubs are of special significance due to their proximity to high seas. Their proximity to consumer markets – particularly China and India – is a unique advantage,” he said.
Peyvandi said Iranshahr is closer than other petrochemical hubs to markets in India and China.
He said the necessary infrastructure must be constructed for attracting foreign investment in the petrochemical sector.
