Israel to blame for failure to reach N-deal: Analyst

14 Nov 2013 - 18:14

A political analyst has blamed the Israeli regime and its lobby groups as the main reason why a possible nuclear deal between Iran and six major world powers was not reached, Press TV reports.
Pointing to the recent nuclear negotiations between Iran and the six world powers - the US, France, Britain, Russia, China and Germany - E. Michael Jones, the editor of Culture Wars Online Magazine, told Press TV on Wednesday that Israel was to blame for the failure to reach an agreement.

“The main player in this whole thing isn’t at the table. The main player is Israel and the Israel lobby,” he said.
“This group (Israel and its lobbies) is determined that there will be no agreement with Iran. They want the sanctions to continue. They understand clearly that if there is rapprochement with Iran, they will lose their power... over the United States,” he added.
Last week, Iran and the six countries held three days of intense discussions in the Swiss city of Geneva. Short of an agreement, both sides nevertheless stressed that significant progress had been made and expressed optimism about the prospect of a possible deal in the future.

The Israeli regime has fretted over a possible Iran nuclear deal, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu saying that a possible agreement with Iran was a “historic blunder.”
