Iran nuclear activities comply with IAEA regulations: AEOI chief

Iran's nuclear activities comply with regulations and safeguards agreements of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Iran's top nuclear official has said amid reports by the Israeli media claiming that Iran has built new nuclear facilities.

Mohammad Eslami, head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), made the remarks while speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the cabinet session in Tehran on Wednesday.

Eslami noted the Israelis have been trying to launch smear campaigns against Iran for years.

Calling such campaigns a "psychological warfare by the enemy",Eslami said the Zionists normally level such accusations against Iran whenever they are in an impasse or under pressure because of their failures in the region.

In early June, the European Unions foreign policy chief welcomed the ongoing cooperation between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), calling on all parties to return to their commitments under JCPOA.

In a phone call with Irans Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, Borrell stated, We will make efforts to bring all parties back to the agreement.

Borrell then welcomed the ongoing cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency, IAEA, and described the continuation of this cooperation as useful and positive.
