Iranian President, FM to visit South Africa in November

South African envoy in Iran says President Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein AmirAbdollahian are set to pay a visit to South Africa.


The South African Ambassador to Tehran, Vika Mazwi Khumalo, stated that the Iranian President's visit to his country would continue the two countries' efforts to broaden ties and highlighted that the trip would take place after the joint commission session.

He noted that during Raisi's visit to South Africa, a series of new agreements would be inked to deepen the two sides' relations.

The South African envoy pointed out that 23 MoUs had been inked between Iran and South Africa in the framework of the two countries joint commission, nearly 18 of them had reached the practical and implementation stage.

He stated that his country's officials had recently paid a visit to Tehran and held meetings with Iranian diplomats regarding the 15thIran-South Africa Joint Commission.

Khumalo added that in the near future, a delegation for women and family affairs would come to Tehran from his country.

He also blamed US sanctions as the most important obstacle to Iran and South Africa's trade ties.
