Pres. Raisi talks face-to-face with southwestern Iranian nomads, promises to resolve their problems

Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi has promised to resolve problems faced by Iranian nomads, in particular water shortages, upon visiting southwestern regions of the country to talk with the nomads face-to-face.

“We are seriously pursuing the resolution of your water shortage problems, and on the other hand, we will strive to cut off the hands of middlemen and brokers in selling the nomads’ handicrafts and food products, so that the main benefits of the endeavors and efforts of nomadic women and men will be reaped by themselves,” Raisi told the nomads on Friday.

The president made the remarks during a trip to the southwestern province of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, where he met with the province’s nomads to directly talk with them, as he marked his fifth provincial visit since assuming office in August.

He also met and talked with nomadic elders to discuss their problems and requests.
