Nothing to hide about Iran-China 25-year deal: FM Zarif

Tasnim – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said everything about a 25-year cooperation agreement with China is clear and the two countries have nothing to hide about it.

Addressing an open session of the Parliament on Sunday, Zarif said there is nothing secret in the 25-year deal between Iran and China, adding that Tehran will make the contents of the agreement public.

He also warned of US attempts to fabricate a security threat in its full-fledged war with Iran, saying Washington desperately seeks to create consensus against Iran.

In several meetings of the UN Security Council on the 2015 Iran nuclear agreement, the US has been isolated, Zarif said.

The foreign minister also stressed that in order to counter the US hostile measures, Iran should avoid domestic disputes, deepen its ties with neighbors, and generate security in the region.

In June, the Iranian administration’s spokesman said Iran and China have drafted a 25-year plan for economic cooperation which proves failure of the plots to isolate the Islamic Republic.

“This plan proves failure of the United States’ policies to isolate Iran, sever Iran’s relations with the international community and also to harm Iran’s will to expand relations with other countries,” Ali Rabiei said, noting that the 25-year plan is based on a win-win approach which “heralds long term cooperation”.
