SHANA Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that the countrys petrochemical industry was at the forefront of generating revenues from non-oil exports.
Speaking a meeting with petrochemical industrialists to mark the Petrochemical Industry Day in Tehran on Monday, Dr. Rouhani said the sector was going through a leap given its rapid growth.
He said the country eyes 100 mt/y of petrochemical output by 2021 which would happen after the second leap in the industry.
Irans current petrochemical production capacity is roughly at 65 mt/y.
Rouhani said that the sectors petrochemical revenues would also reach $37b by 2025 from currently $17b.
