Chinese envoy: Meddling in Tehran-Beijing ties unacceptable

Financial Tribune – China has strategic cooperation with Iran in various fields and no country is allowed to interfere with the two countries’ mutual ties, the Chinese ambassador in Tehran said.

Chang Hua made the statement in an interview with ISNA, in an apparent reference to the United States’ push to ban other countries from doing business with Iran.

Washington is making all-out efforts to reduce Iran’s oil exports to zero as part of its “maximum pressure” policy that it adopted following its exit from the 2015 nuclear deal (formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action) last year.

It initially granted waivers to eight major customers of Iranian crude, including China, but did not extend them after their May expiry.
