Do not even think of attacking Iran, commander warns enemies

Tasnim The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps deputy commander warned the enemies that they would bitterly regret a decision to take military action against Iran.

Speaking to Tasnim on Saturday, Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi, advised the adversaries not to even think of attacking Iran, because they would regret it greatly.

The enemy has been testing the Islamic Republic of Iran for forty years, and must learn lessons from these tests, the commander stated.

Highlighting the IRGC Navys growing power in the Strait of Hormuz, Fadavi said the world has admitted that the recent developments have strengthened the IRGCs role in safeguarding the strait.

On July 19, the IRGC Navy captured a British oil tanker that had violated international maritime regulations when crossing the Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf.

The British Stena Impero oil tanker had switched off its GPS locator, in contravention of international regulations, and was sailing into the Strait of Hormuz in a wrong traffic pattern.

In comments on Wednesday, Commander of the Iranian Navy Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi called on enemies to leave the region immediately or face a humiliating withdrawal.

The commander also said foreign governments are wasting their resources and risking the lives of their servicemen by deploying forces to a region thousands of miles away from their maritime border.

The warning came after the US announced plans to create a new security initiative in the Persian Gulf by forming a coalition for escorting commercial ships.

In remarks in 2016, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei underlined that security of the Persian Gulf region comes within the purview of the regional countries alone, and dismissed the US claim of seeking security in the region.

The Persian Gulf security relates to the countries of the region which have common interests, and not to the US. So, security of the Persian Gulf region should be provided by the countries of this region itself, the Leader said.
