Iranian tech firm produces smart hospital beds

Financial Tribune - A local knowledge-based company has produced a smart hospital bed that facilitate treatment and recovery processes for physicians, nurses and patients.

Produced by the Isfahan-based Hiva Company, the beds use a system called indoor positioning to help patients take bath, use the toilet and benefit from massaging and physiotherapy, the Vice Presidential Office for Science and Technology reported on its website.

Ahmad Mokhtari, the head of the company, said the beds also come in handy for muscle cramps and bedsores.

"The beds are also capable of collecting patients' vital signs in a digital record. The data can act as an actual health record, helping doctors make appropriate decisions about the type, duration and intensity of treatments," he said.

Mokhtari announced that after 10 years of research, the product is now ready for mass production.

Established in 2004, Hiva Company is a manufacturer of advanced medical equipment and supplies.
