Envoy: High deterrence power of Iran's missile program worries US, Israel

FNA - Iranian Ambassador to London Hamid Baeidinejad said that the US and Israel have launched propaganda against Iran's missile program for its high deterrence power, reminding that other regional states are also producing long-range missiles.

"Information about the regional states' missile programs shows that despite the propaganda controversies over Iran's missile program, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Egypt and even the UAE have since decades ago designed very extensive missile programs in cooperation with other countries and produce long-range missiles," Baeidinejad wrote on his twitter account on Saturday.

"Therefore, Iran's missile program is not the only ballistic missile program in the region," he added.

Baeidinejad underlined that the main reason for the US, Israel and their regional allies' concerns about Iran's missile program is its "indigenized" nature, "diversity", advanced specifications and "high deterrence power" which makes military threats against Iran costly and very difficult.

In relevant remarks earlier this month, Iranian Navy Commander Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi underscored his country's high deterrence power, saying that enemies did not dare to launch war against Iran.

"If we look at the today's complicated security atmosphere and days, we observe that the enemy has lined up all its instruments near the Islamic Republic borders, but the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution (Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei) firmly says that there will be no war," Rear Admiral Khanzadi said in the Northern city of Anzali.

"This shows the Leader's upper hand in information and awareness about the Islamic Republic's deterrent power against enemies, and the Islamic Republic Armed Forces play a pioneering role in this deterrence," he added.

Rear Admiral Khanzadi also said the US military buildup in Northern Indian Ocean was only meant to play an act of horror and intimidation, but to no avail.
