IRNA � Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a message appreciated Iranian President Hassan Rouhani for his recent message saying both sides enjoy common civilization.

"I thank His Excellency President Rouhani for his warm greetings. India and Iran enjoy civilizational links," Modi wrote in his Twitter account.

He added: "We will work to strengthen close ties between the two countries."

Earlier, Rouhani in a message congratulated Indian PM on his victory in elections.

In his message, he wished health and success for Prime Minister Modi and the Indian people as well.
