Zarif honors Ferdowsi

IRNA – Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad-Javad Zarif posted a picture on his Instagram page to honor Ferdowsi, the world-famous Iranian epic poet.

‘We observe Ferdowsi Day and pass through centuries to converse with him,’ Zarif wrote.

The picture he posted was taken on May 8, while he unveiled Ferdowsi’s sculpture at Iranian embassy in Russia.

Zarif has also written some verses by Ferdowsi that convey the message that people should all do good deeds and do not let the ill-wishers prevail.

Ferdowsi (c. 940–1020) was a Persian poet and the author of Shahnameh, the world’s longest epic poetry.
