Oil rises as US sends carrier to Middle East

The Wall Street Journal | Dan Molinski: Oil prices ended higher Monday on geopolitical worries after the U.S. said it was sending an aircraft carrier and a strike force to the Middle East as a warning to Iran.

The rise in oil prices was a rebound from earlier in the session, when crude fell hard on worries that Twitter postings by President Trump might derail a possible U.S.-China trade deal.

West Texas Intermediate futures, the U.S. oil benchmark, ended 0.5% higher at $62.25 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, after falling to as low as $60.31 earlier...
