Iran, Iraq cooperation stabilizing region: Def Min
IRNA Defense collaborations between Iran and Iraq makes the region balanced, peaceful, stable and secure, said the Minister of Defense Brigadier-General Amir Hatami on Thursday in a meeting with a numbr of Iraqi commanders.

'The threats and the opportunities the two countries face necessitates that the state and military officials have more negotiations in the interests, development of economy , and also security and stability of the two countries,' said Hatami in the meeting with commanders of Iraqi Navy, Ground Force aviation, and Air Defense Force.

A lot have been spent for the stability and security of the region, he said.

'Without the selfless cooperation and sacrifice of the two nations, Iraq would have been disintegrated and in the hands of ill wishers.'

Referring to US President Donald Trump's decision to add the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) to the terrorist list, he said, 'The move was actually a revenge taken from the IRGC due its measures in Syria and Iraq.'

'They intended to disrupt Syria and Iraq; we need to be careful.'
The Iraqi commanders expressed their pleasure with the meeting and stressed the necessity of strengthening defense cooperation according to good neighborliness and political, religious, security and social connections between the two countries.
