IRGC denies retired officer's allegations

IRNA The spokesman of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Brigadier-General Ramezan Sharif denied the hollow allegations made a retired IRGC officer called Saeed Qasemi about its performance many years ago.

Sharif said what Qasemi said about his presence in Bosnia during the war time in 1990s simply reflect his own views and are not valid.

'The remarks by the long-retired Saeed Qasemi about the time he was a volunteer in Bosnia are his personal viewpoints and the IRGC does not confirm that,' said Sharif.

Sharif went on to stress that the IRGC follows certain logical rules and regulations in its stances and performance.

He added the IRGC presence in Bosnia to help the war-stricken people was no exception.

Referring to America's attempts to distort realities about the IRGC actions, he said experience shows that the documents used by American to support their allegations are invalid and deserve serious doubts.

Sharif further noted that it is not the first time that Qasemi makes such remarks, stressing that he is responsible for his accusations as well.
