Kuwait sends 2nd relief plane for Iran flood survivors
Asharq Al-Awsat - The second Kuwaiti relief plane arrived in Iran on Sunday loaded with medicines, food baskets, and water pumping equipment to help those affected by the recent devastating flash floods that continue to cause heavy damage in the southwest.

Deputy Chairman of Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) Anwar Al-Hasawi said that the Kuwaiti Cabinet instructed KRCS to provide the aid in a swift manner upon directives of Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

KRCS Chairman Dr. Hilal al-Sayer the plane was carrying 40 tons of relief aid, pointing out that the field team would coordinate with the Kuwaiti embassy in Tehran and the Iranian Red Crescent to distribute aid to those affected.

Sayer expressed hope that the aid would alleviate the agony of those affected, affirming that KRCS will be intensified.

The first Kuwaiti relief plane arrived in Iran on Friday with one thousand 12-meter tents, 2,000 food baskets that can last for a month, 2,000 blankets, 100 water pumping equipment.

The Kuwaiti diplomatic mission in Iran says the Persian Gulf country will send more humanitarian aid for survivors of the recent inundation.
