IRNA – Iranian and Iraqi officials have started preparations here on Sunday on the eve of the travel of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to the Iraqi capital on March 11.
Members of the high-ranking delegations from both countries have formed subcommittees and are holding talks on details of Rouhani’s visit to Baghdad.
The subcommittees are to present their final proposals for fostering bilateral cooperation after reviewing the ways to remove the obstacles on the way of developing trade, security, consular, transport and banking ties.
Rouhani’s Monday visit to Baghdad is taking place at the official invitation of his Iraqi counterpart Barham Salih.
He will stay in Iraq for three days.
To make preparations for President Rouhani’s visit, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif arrived in Baghdad late on Saturday.
