An emergency medical helicopter crashed in a southwestern Iranian village on Monday en route to treat a pregnant mother, killing all five people on board, state TV reported.

The seventh coordination council meeting for the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC) is underway in Tehran, with representatives from 14 countries in attendance. During the two-day summit (March 4-5), the participants will try to identify ways of increasing cooperation and boosting the strategic corridor’s capacity.

Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov arrived in Tehran on Saturday for an official visit and has so far met with different Iranian high-ranking officials including Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani.

President described relations between Iran and India developing in all fields and stressed that Tehran welcomes further development of these relations in all fields of mutual interest. Speaking with the new Ambassador of India to Tehran on Saturday while receiving his letter of credence, Dr Hassan Rouhani said, “The effects of cooperation between the two nations are clear everywhere in Iran and India”.

President described relations between Iran and Iraq exceptional and a model for relations in the region, expressing hope that the model of relations could be used by the entire region. Speaking with the new Ambassador of Iraq to Tehran on Saturday while receiving his letter of credence, Dr Hassan Rouhani stated that there are ample potentials for further development of relations between Tehran and Baghdad.

President Rouhani has said that Iran considers relations with African countries very important, adding “the Islamic Republic of Iran is willing to deepen ties with African countries.” President Hassan Rouhani made the comments in a meeting with the new non-resident Ambassador of Burkina Faso to Tehran on Saturday while receiving his letter of credence. Rouhani also said “we are happy that Tehran- Ouagadougou ties are developing.”

Speaking with the new non-resident Ambassador of Malta to Tehran on Saturday while receiving his letter of credence, Dr Hassan Rouhani said, “After the nuclear deal, we started a new round of very good relations with European countries and relations with Malta have been very good in the recent years”.

Receiving credentials of Mukyu Ung, Myanmar’s new Ambassador to Tehran, President Rouhani expressed hope that the efforts made by Myanmar’s government would bear fruits, the stability and security would be resorted in the country and the ground is set for the return of the refugees to their country.

Speaking with the new Ambassador of Congo to Tehran on Saturday while receiving his letter of credence, Dr Hassan Rouhani said, “The Islamic Republic of Iran is determined to cement trade, economic, political, and cultural relations with Congo”.

A conference was held in Tehran on Saturday to commemorate the senior Iraqi Shia cleric Ayatollah Mohammad Baqir al-Hakim, who was the leader of the Supreme Council for Islamic Revolution in Iraq and was assassinated and martyred in a bomb attack in Najaf in 2003. Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif also attended the conference and delivered a speech on the role of Hakim in bringing Iran and Iraq closer to each other.

First Vice President Es’hagh Jahangiri arrived in Semnan province on Saturday for the inauguration of three industrial and mineral projects and also operation of 110 rural employment projects. Upon his arrival, Jahangiri was highly welcomed by provincial officials.
