Britain to continue talks with Iran to boost trade relations

IRNA – British Embassy to Iran announced on Wednesday that a high-ranking delegation will continue talks with Iran’s Organization of Investment and Economic and Technical Assistances to enhance trade.

In a message on Twitter, British Embassy added that the meeting focused on European financial mechanism.

British high-ranking delegation sat down for talks with the officials of Central Bank of Iran (CBI) and discussed the financial vehicle and bilateral relations.

The meeting was attended by British Ambassador in Tehran Rob Macaire and Trade Commissioner for the Middle East Simon Penney who arrived in Tehran on Tuesday.

After a month following establishment of European financial system, a high-ranking delegation from the three European states are scheduled to enter Tehran to study technical aspects of the Instrument in Support of Trade Exchanges (INSTEX).

Last week, the spokesman of Iran Ministry of Foreign Affairs Bahram Qasemi said that a European delegation is to visit Tehran to discuss Instrument in Support of Trade Exchanges (INSTEX).

‘Opening INSTEX was the first step that took too long and was important as well,’ Qasemi told reporters.
