IRNA – The spokesman of Iran Ministry of Foreign Affairs Bahram Qasemi said in his weekly press conference on Monday that a European delegation is to visit Tehran to discuss Instrument in Support of Trade Exchanges (INSTEX).
‘Opening INSTEX was the first step that took too long and was important as well,’ Qasemi told reporters.
The Iranian foreign ministry spokesman added, ‘Inside Iran, the relevant organizations are preparing a corresponding mechanism to be able to make their practical move about the European mechanism.’
‘In the past weeks, we have had good talks about economic and banking sections; and in the near future, Tehran will host some European delegations that have responsibilities about the mechanism.’
He said in their meetings, the experts of the two sides will discuss the steps to operationalize and finalize the mechanism.
Qasemi hoped that with the European delegation’s visit to Tehran, Iran and Europe can take other steps in this regard.
He also said that the delegation will probably consist only of economic and technical experts to set the two mechanisms with each other and put it into implementation.
