IRNA- The Supreme Leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution says perpetrators of a recent terrorist attack on border patrol forces in the southeast have links with intelliegence services both in the region and other countries.

“It is evidently certain that the perpetrators of this crime are connected to the intelligence services of some of the countries inside as well as outside the region,” reads a statement by Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution, issued on the occasion of a funeral ceremony for 27 members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) held in the central city of Isfahan on Saturday.

The statement calls on “the country’s governmental bodies in charge” to “investigate the matter’.

On Wednesday, 27 members of IRGC border forces, aboard a bus, were killed when an explosive-laden car went off as their bus was outspeeding it. The terrorist attack left 13 other IRGC members wounded. The suicide attack took place on a road that connects Zahedan, provincial capital of Sistan-Baluchistan, to Khash, a small town close to the Pakistani border.
