Veep: Iranians should keep solidarity

IRNA - The First Vice President of Iran Eshaq Jahangiri says all Iranians should have solidarity like that during the eight-year imposed war and the early years of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.


Addressing large groups of people, who attended a ceremony held after taking part in the Bahman 22 (February 11) rallies in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Shiraz (Fars Province), Jahangiri said Iranian nation should remember the days they were together and repeat those days, because today all need the same solidarity and empathy.

He said Islamic Revolution, like that in Iran, Father of the Islamic Revolution and Founder of the Islamic Republic the late Imam Khomeini and the Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei belong to all Iranians.

'The Iranian people, under difficult conditions of the imposed war, and in the early years of the victory of the revolution, showed the meaning of being a nation, and today, relying on the nation of Iran, we are able to overcome all the difficulties facing the country.

The high-ranking official expressed, 'The enemy is looking for split, desperation and distrust, and we need unity and solidarity and dialogue. The Islamic Revolution is our key asset to overcome the problems, and today with strengthening the spirit of solidarity, public participation and hope for the future, we are capable of addressing the problems that enemies of the Iranian nation have created.'

He added, 'We learned a lot from the revolution.'

Jahangiri further referred to the massive presence of the people of Shiraz and other people in other cities of the country in the Bahman 22 (February 11) march under rainy weather and highlighted, 'The people of Iran, under bad climatic conditions, participated in Bahman 22 march to support the leadership and the Islamic system, and sent the message to the Americans that they should step out of the scene of confronting this great nation.'

He went on to say, 'The people of Iran came to the scene at the request of their beloved leader to convey the message that we stand for the defense of the Islamic system and we are ready to make a clear future for the country.'
