Iran exports minerals worth $9b in 10 months

IRNA - Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade, highlighting development of mineral industry, said Iran has exported goods worth $9b in the 10 months of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21, 2018).

Speaking in a TV interview, Reza Rahmani said the iron ore stockpile became at least doubled.

He also expressed hope for reaching 55 million tons of iron ore.

By adding several new mega-size mines, the industrial units will be developed, he added.

He went on to say that Iranian Industry and Mine Ministry is following up the value chain of base metals like steel, aluminum and copper.

Elaborating on car manufacturing, Rahmani said two major Iranian manufacturers Saipa and Iran Khodro have increased their production.

Saipa productions have exceeded 1,500 cars per day, he reiterated.

Earlier, Rahmani said that exports will be the driving force in Iran's economic plans in the next Iranian year, hence promotion of exports will be among the government's main priorities.

To that end, the government will develop different plans, one of which will be providing liquidity required for production, he added.
