FNA - Three people have lost their lives in a fire incident at Iranian Space Research Center, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi said Sunday.

"We have recently lost 3 of our dear ones in a fire incident at the Space Research Center," Azari Jahromi told reporters in Tehran on Sunday.

He explained that the fire incident happened in one of the Iranian Space Research Center's departments while a ceremony was underway in another part of the Center where all staff and scientists had gathered, adding that the authorities were informed of the fire late and unfortunately three of "our colleagues" lost their lives".

Azari Jahromi said that experts are investigating into the cause of the incident.

The Iranian Space Research Center is a research center established by Iran's Ministry of Science, Research and Technology in 2000 under the name Iran Aerospace Research Center to perform research in the field of aerospace
