Afghan official commends Iran’s industrial services in Herat

IRNA – Head of Industries and Mines Division of Herat Province, Afghanistan Hamidullah Khadem applauded Iran’s assistance in the construction of the Herat Industrial Town.

At his meeting with the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Herat Mahmood Afkhami Rashidi, Khadem referred to Iran’s projects to supply electricity and raw material to factories in the industrial town and called for continued cooperation between the two parties in this areas.

He highlighted that Herat Industrial Town has been created and developed as an initiative of the Islamic Republic of Iran as an industrial hub of Afghanistan.

The Afghan official went on to say, ‘Due to the policies of the National Unity Government in support of the domestic industry, the second phase of the Herat Industrial Town is under construction.’

He further expressed interest in making use of the experiences of Iranian businessmen and traders.

‘The security, development and prosperity of Afghanistan are considered to be Iran’s security and development, therefore, the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to transfer its technology and experience to the country during the second phase of the Herat industrial town,’ the Iranian official said.

The Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Herat and his delegation met with the members and officials of Industries and Mines Division of Herat Province on the invitation of Hamidullah Khadem and examined the latest state of cooperation between the two countries in the field of industry in the western regions of Afghanistan and the problems.
