Not strange to see enemies seeking to damage Iran-EU ties: Spox

IRNA – Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi on Saturday slammed security accusations for marring Iran-EU long-standing ties, saying that it is not strange to see such moves on behalf of the enemies.

Commenting on the claims laid by some German media about arrest of an Afghan-German national for spying for the Iranian government, he rejected any link between the alleged individual and Islamic Republic of Iran, saying that such accusations are made by those trying to harm Iran-EU relations at the sensitive juncture.

“We have said on several occasions long-standing ties between Iran and most of the European states, especially members of the JCPOA, have enemies who will spare no effort to restrain such relations,’ he added.

A German publication has recently claimed that the CIA has exposed an Iranian spy in German army.
