Iran, Uzbekistan to resume direct flights

IRNA- Iran and Uzbekistan are to resume direct flight between their capitals as part of their attempt to upgrade ties.

UzDaily.com wrote that Uzbek Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dilshod Akhatov and Iran's Ambassador to Uzbekistan Bahman Agharazi Dormani had on Friday explored ways of resuming Iran-Uzbekistan direct flight, while exchanging views on expansion of trade and economic ties.

The two sides also underlined continued political dialogue in Tehran.

Iran recognized Uzbekistan's independence on 25 December 1991. Diplomatic relations between the two were held on 10 May 1992.
