Iran condemns attack on Colombia police academy

Tasnim Irans Foreign Ministry condemned a truck bomb attack on a police academy in Colombia that has killed at least 21 people.

In a statement on Saturday, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi deplored the bitter incident, in which an explosive-laden truck detonated at a police academy in Bogota.

Qassemi condemned resorting to such inhuman and abominable measures that victimize innocent people.

The Iranian spokesperson also expressed sympathy with the families of victims of the attack.

At least 21 people have been killed and dozens wounded after the truck bomb exploded in Colombia, marking the worst attack in Bogota in 16 years.

Colombia' s government declared three days of mourning on Thursday as the blast also injured 68 others.

The Colombian Defense Ministry said the "terrorist act" was carried out using a vehicle packed with 80 kilograms of explosives.
