IRNA – Iran consul general to Erbil announced that Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif is scheduled to have a trip to Iraq Kurdistan Region (KRG) on Tuesday.
Zarif who is now leading a high-ranking politico-economic delegation in Iraq is to have a tour to Erbil on Tuesday, Morteza Ebadi said.
He added that Zarif will hold talks with senior Kurdish officials in Erbil.
Iranian Foreign Minister will then leave Erbil for Sulaymaniyah, he noted.
Ebadi went on to say that the conference on ways to develop bilateral economic and commercial relations will also be held with the attendance of Zarif and economic officials and businessmen in Erbil.
Due to the fact that Iraq’s about three-million dollar imports from Iran are through Iran common borders with KRG, the Iranian and Iraqi economic officials will participate in the second economic conference, Ebadi said .
Another economic conference will also be held in Sulaymaniyah, he reiterated.
Iranian foreign minister has so far visited Prime Minister of Iraq Adil Abdul-Mahdi, President Barham Salih, Speaker of the Council of Representatives of Iraq Mohamed al-Halbousi, Head of the National Wisdom Movement of Iraq Ammar Hakim, Iraqi member of Parliament Hadi Al-Amiri and heads and members of Iraqi religious, political, cultural, ethnical and social bodies.
