US withdrawal proves JCPOA is beneficial to Tehran: Iran senior MP

IRNA The US withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) proves that the deal is beneficial to Iran, said the head of the Commission on Councils and Country's Internal Affairs of Legislative Body on Thursday.

'The US has clearly realized that the JCPOA has been unable to weaken Iran, rather strengthened it; that's why they left the deal,' said Mohammad-Javad Kolivand in speech in Khwarazmi University in Karaj, Alborz Province, west of Tehran.

Kolivand said, 'Some say Iran gave everything, and gained nothing on the deal, which is not the case.'

'The deal solved some problems, like insurance of ships, and production and export of oil. It cannot be said that the JCPOA solved all the problems, but we cannot deny that some issues have been resolved.'

He added that some countries have either the enrichment cycle or the heavy water; but through resistance against the pressures, Iran could gain both.
'What took the world aback was that Iran could reach the science despite sanctions and numerous problems.'

Regarding US pullout of Syria, he said, 'The pullout can, optimistically speaking, be due to the fact they have realized that the Resistance Front has been victorious in Yemen, Lebanon, and Syria.'

'However, we should have in mind that they may have a plan for us and intend to destroy our infrastructures, as they did to Yemen.'

'As the Supreme Leader [of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei] has said if they shoot one missile to Iran, Tehran will wipe put Israel.'

He added that the strategy of Iran about US pullout of Syria is clear; they have, throughout history, proved that they are not trustable.

'We know what is going in their heads. But they won't be able to mobilize one country against us.'
